Open Links in a New Window
Opening a link in a new window is easy. I know what you're thinking, I say everything is easy -- but it is when you know how, and guess what? I'm fixing to show you how right now! It's as simple as this:Boogie Jack's
Notice all I did was add target="_blank" to a standard link. Make sure to include the under_score before the word blank, or the results can be unpredictable in different browsers.
That's all there is to it. I told you it was easy...remember how you were crying like fish? Man, I guess you overreacted that time, huh?
Want to see it in action? Check it out.
As a surfer you can open most links in a new window, too. You can right-click a link and choose Open in New Window and bingo-bango, it will open in a new window.
In Internet Explorer it's even easier -- just hold down the shift key when you click a link and it will open it in a new window. These tricks won't work on some JavaScript or CGI links, but it does work on any normal hyperlink.
It beats backtracking and waiting for the page to reload when you know there's more you want to explore before you leave the page.
Speaking of leaving, don't leave too much time expire between the times you tell your family you love them. Everyone needs a little bit 'o the warm-and-fuzzies from time to time. :)
